RBD coconut oil is generally colorless, tasteless, odorless, with long shelf-life and has a good resistance to oxidation making it ideal to use with food products as it keeps the taste and keeping qualities of finished products.
It has both food and non-food uses. It is widely used in cooking as it withstands high temperature. It is also a good source of liquid for oil in margarine and shortening. If it undergoes hydrogenation, the hydrogenated product is also used as a creaming fat. In ice cream industry, this oil is an excellent ice cream chocolate counventure fat and hydrococonut oil is an excellent milk fat alternative. It is also the preferred fat source for infant food formulations because of its easy digestibility and high absorbability
Non-food uses would include it as a raw ma material for high quality cosmetics, soap, detergents, and other toiletries.
