O-Phthalic anhydride is formed by phthalic acid molecular through dehydration. O-phthalic anhydride is made from naphthalene and mixed with air through the process of 350~360°C vapor phase oxidation catalyzed by vanadium pentoxide,. Phthalic anhydride is in the shape of white scaly or crystalline powder. It is an important organic chemical material and mainly used in the production of plasticizer, alkyd resin, dye, unsaturated resin and some of medicines or pesticides.
